Hampshire Judo Association

Official website for the BJA Hampshire Judo Association.

Referees are extremely important in Judo and without them Competitions Gradings etc cannot be run.

We in Hampshire are lucky to have an International Referee in the form of Andy Tremlett who is able to run courses for us in the County.

He will be co ordinating the County’s referees ready for any events within Hampshire as well as being responsible for training new ones and improving existing Referees skills.

As with most official roles there a few people who do most of the work attending events every weekend with Referees constantly have to be called in from other counties to assist when we do not have enough.

We currently have (as of August 26, 2012):

  • 8 Junior Referees
  • 15 Senior Referees

We are always looking for more interested people. There are minimum age and grade requirements which will be added to the site soon.

BJA Refereeing and Progression pathway and other information can be found Here
