BJA Hampshire Judo are the County body for Judo helping to arrange competitions, coach and volunteer education along with other events for Judo practitioners in the Region.
We are part of the Southern Area Judo and are full members of the National Governing Body, The British Judo Association.
Due to the Coronavirus Hampshire Judo have taken the decision to postpone our AGM until later in the year. Once things are back to normal, then we will find a new date to hold the AGM.
Once the government and the British Judo Association have given their approval we can recommence with activities within the County.
What is Judo
Judo is a Martial Art originally originating from Japan, it has now spread worldwide with great popularity as both a traditional Japanese Martial Arts and as an Olympic Sport.
It is popular with both children and adults throughout the world as both a method of physical exercise to improve general health and overall fitness. Skills will develop with increased co-ordination, balance, posture and flexibility. Judo is also as a way of personal self development building self confidence and discipline in participants.
Judo encompasses a wide range of exciting standing techniques called Tachi Waza and likewise Groundwork techniques called Ne Waza. Judo offers something for everyone.
